Brane cosmology may explain many mysteries of the universe. String theory, M theory and superstring theory describe a universe made up of multiple dimensions of which our 3-dimensional environment is but a part. Higher dimensions of existance may run through our universe with properties we may just now be on the verge of discovery. The Higgs field and Higgs boson theorized by high energy physics will probably be proved with the LHC at CERN this year (2008) when it goes online (finally). The Higgs boson is a particle that reacts with electrons and protons to give mass to matter. Proving it exists will open a new era of understanding of our universe. If multiple dimensions of reality can be proved then the next step will be exploring those dimensions and the human mind that may interact with them. If other dimensions do exist and perception can be extended into those realms then the whole of paranormal phenomenon can be explained and explored further.

Time and space may not be linear. Travel across the universe and across time itself may not be as limited as we thought. If we can understand the nature of the other dimensions we may be able to develop an awareness of them and a method to utilize that awareness to understand and be perceptive of the possibilities that exist in them. If individual energy-based entities exist in them then the mystery of the angels might be revealed.

We can never traverse the extra dimensions that exist in high energy physics but our perception and awareness might be able to. The ancient shamans may have been tuned to a reality that was taught from many thousands of years ago but forgotten. Many ancient cultures reference a "Great Year" that is actually based on the precession of the equinoxes. Modern man did not discover this cycle until around the 4th century but evidence exists that myths and cultures of thousands of years ago knew of this 26,000 year cycle. What other secrets of the universe did they know that have since been forgotten? Were the Greek Gods just myths and stories or beings from other dimensions?

We may never know. Just our luck.
